Norse Mythology and Valhalla Rising

April 17, 2010

Here comes the new movie based on Norse Mythology entitled Valhalla Rising. The scene focus from a man named One Eye who has the great fashion for violence to save his life. It was all started when he goes out with extraordinary journey as the movie goes by. I will surely watch Valhalla rising online directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. I’m a great fan of Norse Mythology form the chief god Odin to the god of mischievous.

I want to share this film because I know this will a good start to realize how Norse mythology are so rich to occupy many people’s fantasy. What this Norse Mythology different with other myth is just they are God with no such immortality and they focus for more heroic event through Ragnarok. That’s the reason why this is my favorite myth since how can you realize the real meaning of living if you don’t know death. You can find the important unless you don’t know the meaning of nonsense.

In Valhalla Rising the stories is on One Eye is a fierce warrior but shows little loyalty to his master, and when the opportunity presents itself, One Eye murders Barde and his mercenaries and sets off on his own, with a young boy (Maarten Stevenson) tagging along to speak on his behalf. Eager to leave Denmark behind in favor of freedom and adventure, One Eye throws in his lot with a band of Christian Vikings, who’ve set out on an ambitious quest to travel to Jerusalem and claim the Holy Land as their own. But the voyage to the Holy City is a difficult one, and the Vikings are met with violent resistance, forcing One Eye to rely on his talents as a warrior to protect himself and his young apprentice.
